Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot more about what I actually care about.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily grind—work, earn, spend, repeat. But the older I get, the more I realize that the real luxuries in life aren’t necessarily the things we can buy.
They’re the things we often take for granted:
- Time
- Health
- A quiet mind
- Slow mornings
- Rest without feeling guilty
- A good night’s sleep
- Calm, “boring” days
- Meaningful conversations
- Home-cooked meals
- People you love
- People who love you back
None of this is particularly flashy. There’s no status symbol attached to most of it.
But honestly, that’s kind of the point.
Maybe the goal isn’t to have more of everything. Maybe it’s to have more of what actually makes life feel good.
